Incredibly grateful to the amazing Nour Sakkijha for hosting a session for mothers at Husn refugee camp to raise awareness about child body safety and sexual abuse. The session was powerful and so necessary. She gave advice on how to protect and uphold the safety of our kids. This topic—despite being so widely present—is unfortunately still considered taboo in our society. We must make sure all parents and teachers have the right tools to prevent it from happening and deal with it properly if their children are exposed to it.

Meet Dr Layal, one of the best breast surgeons in the region. For those of you who don’t know, this hardworking successful surgeon is also a mother to two beautiful daughters. We admire her determination to be a role model to them and a life saver to so many mothers out there. We are beyond grateful to Dr Layal, who jumped at the opportunity of raising awareness about breast cancer and testing mothers who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity at Husn Refugee Camp.

We are deeply grateful to Nour for generously sharing her knowledge, time, and care. Led by Nour, we held a workshop that introduced 20 Syrian participants to the art of pickling, transforming traditional techniques into income-generating opportunities. The impact extended beyond the workshop, as several women went on to lead their own sessions, reaching an additional 75 women within their communities — passing the knowledge forward and helping preserve a cherished culinary tradition.

Sawsan Al Hindi is a talented and well-established tailor whose work has shaped and inspired generations of women. Led by Sawsan, a sewing workshop brought new energy and opportunity to Husn Refugee Camp. As part of the initiative, four sewing machines were installed at the Husn Community Center, and a training program was delivered to the camp’s top tailors. They later led their own 9-hour sewing courses, reaching 85 women eager to learn, access the machines, and build meaningful, income-generating skills.
